Officer Scheben was born and raised outside New York City and has lived in Western Montana for 20 years.  He has  over 13 years Law Enforcement experience and is a graduate of the University of Montana.
  
The Crime Prevention Officer's primary objective is to apply proactive efforts and measures aimed at the elimination of criminal incidents, rather than responding to them after they have occurred.  A wide range of information is offered  to schools, civic organizations, and the general community, including business safety, security, risk assessment, residential safety, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) and motor vehicle/bicycle theft prevention.
The crime Prevention Officer is also involved in the following boards/committees; Vice-President of the Montana Crime Prevention Association, Neighborhood Watch, Crimestoppers, Mayor’s Commission on Downtown Quality of Life issues, Annexation Team and the Missoula Pre-Release Screening Board.
